Episode 7: Ten Too Many..
Players Still in the Game:

Edoni Tribe:
Sarah Heiderman
Friedrich Nietzsche
Randy Tahkoer
Foyle Aber
Jennifer Sweeney
Joey Mury
Johanus Bartholomew
Natalie Kink
Ian Murphy
Evan Muse

Voted Out:
Amanda Tingay
Earl Oldson
John Doe
Jason Lucca
Mark Grant
Alexander Cromwell

Over at the Edoni Tribe:

Ian: Fate…or in this case, Mateui, has a strange way of kicking you in the nuts every time things are going okay. I don’t think anyone could have prepared themselves for the Proverb Challenge. Johanus has voted Mark from the game, and our alliance has essentially been blown to pieces before we ever even used it to our advantage.

Personally, I would never have seen Mark as a leader myself. I mean, he posted a lot and tried to be friendly with everyone and all that, but even though in my original plan I was going to vote him off, he definitely wouldn’t have been top of my list to eliminate had I won the Challenge, with or without our alliance. But anyway, we wouldn’t have kept our alliance for long, because the merge has just happened! This is exciting – now, we’re in the real game, where the backstabbing, the planning, the scheming and the alliance forming really goes into overdrive. Bring it on!

The new Edoni tribe has been pretty inactive. We’re doing stuff like playing the Truth or Dare game, but to date the only role-playing anyone tried died pretty quickly.

Joey: We’re merging. We’re now Edoni, and I’ve made it all the way. I’ll at least become a member of the jury now. This is what I’ve been waiting for. Now, we’re really into the game. I must keep watching my back, and be careful.

Natalie: WOW! Mark was voted off by Johanus! What a turnaround! Well, I’m still a little allied with Ian and very much allied with Sarah. She thinks Maladon should vote the rest of Shindor off. I’m in quiet agreeance, though I like Jennifer. We’re going to vote for Foyle next, because he’s: A jerk, and Conniving.

I wouldn’t trust him at all.

Tree Mail:

No longer as two
But together as one
Immunity is single
The game has begun

Endure the longest
Stand proud till the end
If you can beat others
Immunity will be a friend

Immunity Challenge:

Mat: Welcome to your first ever Single Immunity Challenge. This is how immunity will work from now on. First of all, say good bye to the Immunity Totem, and say hello to the Immunity Necklace. You want this. With it, you guarantee yourself a safe passage to the next round, and cannot be voted out at Tribal Council.

For every challenge now, everyone is playing for themselves. Do the best in the challenge, and only you are immune - everyone else is not safe.

Let’s get to today’s challenge:

Each of you will be standing on a wooden totem pole in the water. All you have to do is stand on it. It’s that simple. However, you cannot sit down, or get off - once you do, the challenge is over for you.

Stay standing the longest, and you’ll win immunity.

(This challenge will be played on another internet site, and you will not be able to see how long everyone else endures. You will all make your way to: www.holdthebutton.com. Follow the instructions there, and hold the button as long as you can)

Immunity is at stake.. Ready? GO!

*All 10 players climbed onto their totem poles and began to stand*

Johanus: I've had enough of this - I'm not going to stand her for eternity.

*Johanus jumped off*

*After 10 minutes, another player jumped off: Joey*

*Into the 30 minutes, 2 players began to wooble, and both fell: Evan, and then Randy.*

*Into the 40 minutes, yet another two fell: Jennifer, and then Foyle*

*Finally when the time had reached one hour, only 4 were left, and they were all tired. Ian tried to shift his position, but this caused him to fall.*

*Five minutes before 2 hours, Sarah finally gave up falling into the water with a splash.*

*Only 2 were now left: Natalie and Friedrich. Unfortunately, Natalie moved her foot a little on her totem pole, and fell into the water. Friedrich had won the challenge!

FRIEDRICH HAS WON IMMUNITY - YOU CANNOT VOTE FOR HIM IN TONIGHT'S TRIBAL COUNCIL.

(Everyone's times, if you're interested.)

- Johanus Bartholomew: 0 minutes and 0 seconds.
- Joey Mury: 10 minutes and 7.66 seconds
- Evan Muse: 32 minutes and 7 sec
- Randy Tahkoer: 34 minutes and 23.83 seconds
- Jennifer Sweeney: 43 minutes and 10.16 seconds
- Foyle Aber: 45 minutes and 34.86 seconds
- Ian Murphy: 1 hours, 2 minutes and 8.46 seconds
- Sarah Heiderman: 1 hours, 55 minutes and 24.63 seconds
- Natalie Kink: 1 hours, 56 minutes and 16.04 seconds
- Friedrich Nietzsche: 3 hours, 27 minutes and 55.81 seconds!

Back at the Edoni Tribe Camp:

Jennifer: : Well my first challenge alone, we had go to a site called holdthebutton.com and hold the button as long as we could, I managed 1 hour and 15 minutes (well just about 15 minutes), I lifted my finger from the mouse key when I wasn't paying attention as much which made it end. I did better then 50.1% of the people who did it. Well Mateui had the wrong email listed (a .com instead of a .ca) so I have to do it all over again. I'm gonna do it tomorrow. Well my new time I sent in is like 45 minutes. I think I broke my mouse from the challenge though so any other challenges like this I get now I'm having a time of like half a second.

Joey: After our first challenge, an endurance challenge which, in my situation, I stood no chance at, so I quickly gave up. I’m not too worried though. Fred won immunity, but I had no plans on voting for him anyway. He is a bit of a threat, but… meh. My main concern is to keep the shit constantly on the fan. Things are rather quiet here, and if it gets too quiet, we simply have no choice but to vote randomly. I must avoid that at all costs, since no one will be safe.

I talked to Natalie for awhile. We had a very nice conversation where we discussed strategies. She’s going for Foyle, who she doesn’t trust. I did consider him, as his outburst at Sarah was rather uncalled for. I decided to go ahead and vote for him. I don’t really trust the idea, though. I don’t know if there’s an alliance or not, but if so, Foyle and I are both in Maladon. I don’t want to be stuck on the bad end of it. I usually notice when people vote for members of their own former tribe, they often keep doing that, putting them in danger for having an alliance formed against them. Really, I don’t want an alliance. I don’t like the one-sidedness of them. But, I must do what’s necessary to survive.

So, Natalie and I chatted for awhile. We discussed things that had been happening, and really connected well. We both agreed we would not be voting for each other in the near future. I now have several tribe members on MSN, so I’ll have to keep in close touch with the others to keep my position in check. Right now, I think I’m in a perfect spot. Perhaps my being eliminated second in the challenge was just perfect, as if I was 2nd or 3rd last, my threat level would go up…

Friedrich: I have a lot of patience, so this wasn’t really that tough. When you have something semi-decent to watch on TV, it isn’t so bad. And the immunity is worth it, I suppose…

Anyways, I was unsure of who to vote for this round. I though Sarah might want to get rid of Randy now, but apparently she doesn’t. That is good, because I want to keep him around 1 more round. He will be eliminated the next time. Right now, Sarah wants us to vote for Foyle. I think it’s a decent decision, so I’m going with it. She seems to have convinced Natalie to vote this way also.

This gets more and more convoluted. I think, HOPE, I can trust Sarah. We seem to have an understanding to be the 2 finalists, and get rid of everyone else. I think this is beneficial… I can’t think of a reason why she would betray me in the final rounds except for the joy of it, and she doesn’t seem the type. She seems to have some influence over Natalie now… Ian remains a wildcard whom I will talk to shortly… Randy can’t be counted on so far… But Evan appears to be solid. It’s a shame he will eventually have to be voted off, but until then, as long as he remains oblivious to how he is being used, all is well. I’ll have to remember to apologize.

Meanwhile, I’ve become afraid I’ll accidentally say something in the wrong IM window and give something vital away…

The game is far from over and I feel like a puppetmaster. Maybe that is arrogant. But I think I’m in the position to determine the outcome of the game. At least, that’s how I project my position in future rounds. I have to keep it together… Make sure votes will go how I want. I’d feel really foolish if it turned out I was only the puppet of another puppetmaster entirely only LED to believe he was the puppetmaster. Oh, the suspicion and doubt….

I considered sending Foyle a PM before his elimination from the game. This is what I had typed up:

---------
“Yes, I predict that you are going to be voted off this round. I think everyone has already made up their minds, so I don't feel I'm risking myself with this PM.

What I wish to offer you is any small amount of revenge you might want to attempt. If you want, I would welcome any information on who you would like to see voted off soon, and why. I could use this information in future decision making. And of course, the payoff would be that you'd be possibly contributing to this person's downfall.

Just leaving you an option.”
---------

But, I decided not to send it. It could make me a target, since I’m obviously divulging that I have potential votes at my disposal. He could inform whatever allies he has. Despite what I said in the PM, the note was never sent.

Natalie: Well, I came second. Friedrich somehow did 3 and a half hours! Hoo. All right, Foyle is outta here.

Poor Joey… he hasn’t got an alliance. He was in the dark about who to vote for, so I mentioned Foyle. Apparently he likes Foyle. I’m not gonna be pushy about it… we’ve already got enough votes for Foyle. Me, Ian, Friedrich and Sarah.

He said:

---------
“No doubt [Sarah will vote for Foyle]... along with all the other members of Shindor, if they remember. She may try to sway some other members. But, now shouldn't be the time to worry about being slaughtered by alliances. After we switched tribes, we cleaned the place up of Shindor members.”
---------

Poor clueless Joey…
But he’s alright. I’m now in alliance with everyone on the tribe other than Foyle, Johanus, Jennifer, Evan and Randy. Though Joey says that alliances detract from the game.

Another quote:
---------
“No problem. Don't expect a vote from me any time soon.”
---------

I love how everyone trusts me. It’s so good to know I’m almost assured a place in the final 4 or so… *Smiles deviously*

Randy: Once I saw the challenge, I knew there was no possible way I was going to win. There were other members who were willingly to stand there all day if needed, so I was one of the first few to throw in the towel... that night... I am voting for the man I want gone, Johanus. I’m not going bother to discuss with the others, their opinions are not of my concern tonight.

Tribal Council:

*The 10 remaining players walk into the Tribal Council, each clutching their lighting torches.*

Mat: Welcome, all. You've all done well to get here, but now the going gets rough. Who values friendship more than winning? Who's been pulling the wool over your eyes all along? And who'll do anything to win? Over the coming days, we'll find out. You are now gathered for your first Tribal Council, and again, each of your torches represents life. Any one of you can be eliminated - except one. Friedrich, please step forward.

*Friedrich steps forward, and bows his head as the Immunity Necklace is hung around his neck*

Congratulations, for your perseverence and iron will, you have gained Immunity this round. Now, let's cut the small talk and get down to business. I will ask each of you to please step forward, and write down the name of the person you wish to vote for.

Friedrich, if you had to pass your Immunity on to someone else in the tribe, who would it be and why?

Friedrich: "If I had to pass my Immunity on? Well, I'd pass it on to no-one, really. After all, it's a precious resource, and anyone might be an enemy. But if I were forced to pass it, I'd pass it to... Natalie. Just because I don't think she will get any votes at all this round, so the immunity would basically be wasted. Hehehe."

*Always a concise speaker, Friedrich takes his seat.*

Mat: Jennifer, are you noticing any relationships or conflicts forming between individuals in the tribe?

Jennifer: Only ones that are just RolePlayed really...

Mat: Joey, do you believe there is much planning going on in the tribe around you? Do you believe maybe that any paranoia has set in with either you or anyone else in the tribe?

Joey: I don't think I've pissed anyone off lately... but I can't help feel some sort of paranoia, no matter how safe I may be. I'm sure everyone feels no matter how well liked they are, they can't help but feel that their name will appear next.

Unless I'm missing something, I don't see many people (well, perhaps one) that would be a target tonight. My main worry is that we're gonna run out of ideas, and start voting randomly, which puts us all at risk.

*Everyone goes up one by one and casts their vote.*

Mat: Alright. Everyone has voted. I'll go tally the votes.

*Mat walked out of the area, and disappeared. After a short moment, he returned with the vote canister in his hands.*

Once the votes are read the decision is final - the person voted out will be asked to leave the area immediately.

I'll read the votes.

The seventh person voted out of Making the Cut II: Indonesia is:
FOYLE ABER

No need to read the last vote, it will remain a mystery.

Foyle, please bring me your torch.

*Foyle knew he had it coming - he had accepted it, except that he wanted so badly to make the jury - sadly, he had failed. He stood up and brought his torch before Mat.*

Foyle, the tribe has spoken.

*The torched was snuffed.. and Foyle left the area without looking back to the other players.*

Well, I'd like to congratulate the 9 of you who are left. Should you be voted out after this point, you will make up a 7 member jury that will vote for the winner in the end.

Tribal dynamics will come into play very much after tonight, as we have seen that original tribal lines may not necessarily mean survival.

Head back to camp..

*The remaining 9 stood up, took their torches and left. They were happy that they survived up till this point in the game*

Archive:

Jennifer: Vote: Randy Tahkoer
Reason: Because Foyle said so. I feel that playing the role of a puppet under someone else's control would be wise for now since it would make them take the fall when our alliance falls apart instead of me.

Sarah: I vote for: Foyle Aber

I hate this guy. He bugs me. I hope everyone else feels the same way about him.

Foyle: Vote for that Randy guy

Despite me being out for sure (All of Shindor hates me)

Am I in the Jury like UPRC? He told me about it in IRC

Joey: I'm voting on time! Hurray!

I vote for Foyle. I'd go into detail on my explanation, but that's what confessionals are for, right?

Friedrich: Vote: Foyle
Reason: Well, since I am currenlty in an alliance with Sarah, and there didn't seem to be any other clear choice, he was it. I know that Sarah has a bone to pick with him, but I guess it's her right to get whatever revenge she wants. I think it's biased, since he seems rather nice except for that one time, but this is how the game works. My alliance's survival is more important than his.

Evan: Folye
Sorry, but you're just too much of a threat.

Ian Murphy: My Vote: Foyle Aber

Reasons: The conflicts that have arisen with this guy, followed up by efforts to reconcile with members as soon as the merge occurred, shows me that this guy is playing the game. We're not seeing his whole personality, and I'm pretty sure that when the chips are down, he won't hesitate to some backstabbing to get further in the game. I'd rather not give him the chance.

Natalie: I’m votin’ fer Foyle Aber this time.
He’s trouble with a capital T. He’s rude and he just gives off the vibe that he could easily backstab any one of us. So, I’m getting you before you get anyone else.

Randy: Vote: Johanus

Reason: Thus far, I don't really have anyone in particular to get rid of. So, I'm forced to choose who I don't favor the most... and that would be Johanus. Maybe I should aim towards someone I think should be gone, but perhaps in the later rounds. For now, it's his time to leave the game.

Johanus: Randy. Sorry about the wait.

The Big Reveal:

Foyle: Can I leave Funk style?

Although this will be in my confessional, just for the record: Don't take anything I said/did with this character to heart and hate the real me once you find out. I played this character like a jackass, and my plan was simple: To backstab anyone and everyone. I did it several times, I had my fun but obviously when I am put up against the entire Shindor tribe who I basically insulted I'm out for sure XD

Basically, don't take my words to heart, Thanks.

Foyle = Bart (*GASP!*)
