Using this article, you can change which side of your brain is more efficient, thus making you a better game maker in different areas.

Ways to change your brain patterns

In my previous article about Psychology, I had a few tests, and they described the way you think, and what side of the brain you use. Well, now I give you many wonderful ways to change the way you think.

Index:
1. Intro
2. Changing to Left
3. Changing to Right
4. Middle

Part 1: Intro
So, what does using different sides of your brain have to do with game making? Everything. Coding and drawing use different sides of the brain, and if you’re good at one, you’re most likely not good at the other. Your left brain is the calculating, mathematical side, and your right brain is the creative, spatial side. When it comes to game making, your left brain is good for coding, and stuff like that. Your right brain is good for making plots, designing graphics, and other activities similar to that. For instance, if you want to code a great game, but you’re right brained, it won’t come as easy to you. But, if you’re left brained, it will be much easier. This article will help you change the dominant side of your brain, and hopefully make things easier for you. So, as you can see, the side of the brain you use thoroughly effects the way you make your games.

What these activities will do:
The activities below will change the most effective side of your brain. If you do both of them (activities for both left and right) you will become middle-brained, meaning you can do just about anything as easy as another (brain-wise). But, to become middle-brained, you need to practice, a lot.

Part 2: Changing to Left
This part will basically describe how to become ‘left-brained’. The activities will all slowly make your left brain stronger than the right, thus making you better at coding and the like.

Things to do: math, reading, foreign languages
Things to avoid: listening to music, drawing
Foods to eat/drink: Protein foods such as cheese (GW favorite), milk, and kheese(Government-processed, protein-charged cheese) and herbs such as Ginseng.

Activity 1: Do your calculus homework!
As you already know, math is a lot like coding. If you can code, you can usually do math well, too. So, can you guess what this activity is? Simple: The more math you do, the better you will become at coding. I don’t really have a set activity for you to do here, but you know what you have to do.

Activity 2: Reading
Reading is a fully left-brained activity, and can really help you code better, whether you know it or not. The activity? Read. A lot. And don’t stop until you have an unbearable urge to get up and code your game away.

Activity 3: Foreign languages

Part three: Changing to Right

Things to do: draw, listen to music, sleep, video games
Things to avoid: math(eval), coding, school
Foods to eat/drink: caffeine, herbal teas

To see results, point at a small point in the room, that is rather far away from you, without closing any of your three eyes. Now, close one eye, and then the other. Which eye has your finger match up with the point? If it’s left, then you’re more right-brained now. If it’s right, then you’re left brained, and you’ve successfully converted to being a left-brainer. If nether eye matches up, then you’ve become one of the rare middle brainers.

Activity 1: Drawing
Drawing can be a left-brained activity, but if you do it right, it’s the most right-brained activity out there. (a PUN! :o) For info on how to do this, go here. (just ignore the spaments and the low rating)

Activity 2: Listening to music
Simple enough eh? Wrong. Most music these days has no emotion or feeling to it. So I must limit my category to this: only listen to music with little or no words in it. Others have too many words to be a true right-brained song. But, if you block out the words, then it’s fine. Just remember: the main thing here is to get a song that has true emotion to it, without actually listening to words.

Activity 3: sleep
Simple. Sleeping is a slight right-brained activity. To sleep, you lie down and rest. :)

To see results, point at a small point in the room, that is rather far away from you, without closing any of your three eyes. Now, close one eye, and then the other. Which eye has your finger match up with the point? If it’s left, then you’ve successfully became more right-brained. If it’s right, then you’re left brained, and you’re still a left-brainer. If nether eye matches up, then you’ve become one of the rare middle brainers.

Activity 4: Video games
Video games are fully spatial activities, and really help you become right-brained. Games like shooters and RPGs are some of the best for this matter. So remember, when your mom yells at you to get off your damn kooky video game, tell her that it’s bridging the right side of your mind, making it more powerful and efficient. That’ll keep you going for a few more hours. :)

Part 4: Middle brained
To become middle brained, you must do each of the activities I’ve listed above, and practice them equally.

Foods to eat/drink: Protein and herbs are the best for this matter. You want to stay away from caffeine, however, for you need all the brain power you can get to be middle-brained.

To see results, point at a small point in the room, that is rather far away from you, without closing any of your three eyes. Now, close one eye, and then the other. Which eye has your finger match up with the point? If nether match up, then you sir are one of the few billion middle-brained people of the world. But if one eye matches up, you are still mostly one-sided.

Now, don’t post ‘d00d thsi si f***ed up Psycho shyt yo’, because that just wastes comment space, and is not needed. Questions are fine, but, as always, mindless flaming is not.
