Fallen Comrades

Welcome to the 10th Round of Making the Cut (MTC, in short.)

(To make this whole document easier to understand, I will post the actual words that were spoken during the game, to help shape the episodes and occurrences.)

And so, 16 have signed up for a journey of epic proportions, including serious backstabbing, secret alliances, revengeful actions, and voting one another out of the game, in essence, 'cutting' the other members out, who will wait until the last round, to vote for one of two people, who will become the ultimate survivor of Making the Cut.

10 are already cut, and they have become the first few members of the jury. In the end, only 2 will be left, and the remaining 14 who have been cut will decide upon the winner.

*****
(Round #10 Info)
*****

*The participants sit patiently in the seating area. Thoughts race through their minds. In the last round 3 players were cut – Turkpimp quit, Fire Mage was named the “Worst Player” and had to leave the game, and Safari single-handedly cut Cawin, using his Power of Attourney status. What was to come?*

Mateui: There are only 6 of you left in the game. But doesn't 6 sound like a really shallow number? Yes, it does - 7 is a much more complete number. Judging by the title, you may be able to tell what this round will involve - if not, I'll tell you.

I told you a few rounds ago that there will be some twists in this game - but not all of them would necessarily be bad. This is the case in this round. I am providing an opportunity for someone to receive a second chance. There are presently 10 people sitting in the jury - I am giving you a chance to revive someone from the jury, and allow them entry into the game.

In this round, the 6 of you who are left, will vote for someone in the jury. The person who receives the most votes for them will be entered into the game for a second time - making Round #11 have 7 people. (I told you this was a nice twist! ^_^!)

Who will you vote for? Here are the 10 people that you can vote: (They are in no particular order)

- Humigotchi
- Turkpimp
- Geno_SMRPG
- deluge
- Cawin
- aNiMeGoD2727
- DarkPriest
- Faust
- Fire Mage
- dark_crystalis

Now, you may be debating on which person you should revive and how this may help you. I will give you some advice/pointers to help you decide.

- Revive a past member of an alliance, or someone who you know will align with you. Having a small but effective alliance may prove advantageous in these last rounds.

- Revive a past member who you feel was unjustly removed from the game, for various reasons such as twists, etc.

- Revive a past enemy, and apologize to them - maybe they'll align with you, and maybe you'll gain the trust of their past aligned members who are left in the jury?

Those are just a few tips - you could revive somebody for a different reason - this may be a really strategic round.. depending upon how you play it.

Please vote, stating who you want to revive, and for what reason. If you're in the jury currently, you may also want to plea to get revived.. try something.

(When the person is finally chosen, after the voting, that person will have 24 hours to confirm that they are back in the game - if you know that a jury member will probably be inactive, you may not want to waste your vote on that person..)

You may now vote!

*The players left in the game looked at each other. Bringing someone back may or may not be a good idea. It would be good to get a friend back, but if someone who you hated came back, that could really shake things up a bit..*

MDN: Hmm reviving someone. I'm gonna have to go around talking to removed people to see how many of them want to be back, and then decide which is the best to revive, or would be the most interesting to revive...

*Meanwhile, the jury looks onto the players. One of the jury would be able to return.. but who would it be?*

Safari: Sheesh Mateui, you keep making all these tough rounds that completely mess up strategy and make me have to think for a while.

Fire Mage: Man, I guess I might like your twists now, Mateui!
This gives me another chance, hooray! Maybe......

MDN: Okay I'll try to revive you.

*tries to write down Fire Mage on his voting ballot for this round but his pencil breaks*
*gets another pencil but it breaks to*
*tries to use a pencil sharpener but it breaks to*
*uses a pen but it's out of ink*
*uses another pen which spills all of it's ink out on the ballot*
*tries to clean off ballot as best as he can*
*uses another pen that's pretty much out of ink but uses the tiny bit it has left to write in bearly legiable words "I vote to revive Fire Mage"*
*starts to walk over to the voting box but trips on a banana peel*
*trips again on the slippery rug*
*trips yet again on some slippery floor*
*gets right up to the voting box and is about to put in his vote when someone sprays the entire box with a flame thrower's flame and shouts "FIRE QUICK RUN FOR MY FLAME THROWER THAT'S STARTING A FIRE"*
*comes back later and manages to safely get to the voting box that has been repaired*
*takes out his vote and discovers that it's been burnt to ashes*

I should of known!

(MATEUI NOTE: During the game, some players began to hold a superstitious grudge against Fire Mage – apparently, everyone who he was allied with was always voted out. Fire Mage was thus named the “Jinx”, and some players joked about this.)

*By this time, the players were ready to vote.*

*Koromai walked up to the voting platform, and wrote a name.*

DarkPriest

Koromai: He um...yeah... PMed me.

*Koromai submitted his vote, and walked back down to his seat. MDN was now at the voting platform. He too wrote down a name.*

Erave

MDN: I doubt it'll do any good from what'll happen in the end and what's been said already but it's still my choice for this round.

*MDN got back to his seat, and Safari got up, walked to the voting platform, and wrote down a name as well.*

Safari: Might I add that this is not going to sit very well with any of the plans that I previously had. but:

DarkPriest.

I don't really want anyone back, but if I get him back, then I think maybe I could for somewhat of a partnership and keep in this for just a bit longer.

*Yes, Safari didn’t really like the idea of having someone return from the past – but if that person would somehow help him out, even if only temporarily, this could work out very nicely.*

*Safari went back to his seat, and Gamewolf cast his vote.*

Erave

Gamewolf: He was like, the leader of my little alliance a while back, I think he'd be a good addition, since he knew exactly what to do just about all of the time... Not to mention when he said "I planned on getting to the final round with MDN and Gamewolf, blah blah blah And then me and MDN would get him"... that made me nervous... But I was told MDN no longer had those intentions and hopefully I’m not a sucker for believing him *Gulp*

*Gamewolf was not sure whether he should trust MDN and Erave – his old alliance members. They were planning on getting rid of Gamewolf in the game, and Gamewolf wasn’t sure if they still had those intentions.. Only time would tell.*

*Gamewolf was now sitting in his seat – Geno was up to vote for someone. He wrote down a name*

(The camera cannot see the vote)

Geno: He's one of the best players here, he's been playing hard, he deserves another chance.

*Geno placed his vote inside the container, and walked back to his seat. The last player to cast his vote, Deluge, was now on his way to the voting platform. When he got there, he cast his vote.*

(The camera cannot see the vote)

Deluge: I would vote an old ally back in, but I have another ally still in the game, and don't wanna end up having to vote one of them off.

*Deluge walked back, happy with the choice that he had made.*

Mateui: Alright. Everyone has now voted. I’ll go tally the votes.

VOTING:

Mateui: I’ll remind you – the votes here are for the jury members. The person who receives the most votes will be re-instated into the game.

*The 10 jury members look at each other. They wonder who that lucky person will be.*

1st Vote:
DarkPriest

2nd Vote:
Erave

3rd Vote:
DarkPriest.

4th Vote:
Erave.

Mateui: DP and Erave, you are both tied with 2 votes.

*DarkPriest and Erave look at each other intently.. Only one of them get be brought back.*

5thVote:
DarkPriest ("I would vote an old ally back in, but I have another ally still in the game, and don't wanna end up having to vote one of them off.")

Mateui: Final vote. Will it be Dp or Erave?

6th Vote
Erave

Mateui: Well well well.. it seems to me that there are still remnants of the two big alliances left in the group of 6. Since the votes are tied 3-3.. And past votes will not be counted in deciding which person will come back, I am forced to let another group of people decide who will return. Yes, that's right - the Jury.

The remaining 8 members of the jury will have to vote for the person who they want back in the game - either DP or Erave. Now, some of these members in the jury may have stopped watching this topic, and may not even know about this circumstance - so, for your best interest Erave and DP, you may wish to contact them, telling them to vote for you. Do anything you can to gain as many votes as you please.

I am hoping that this will not end up in a tie as well.. If it does, well, then I'm going to have to resort to something - but I can't tell you what, only if a tie should happen - which I hope doesn't. (And it probably won't, because of Turkpimp's computer trouble... but you never know..)

Here are the members that will be eligible to vote.

Humigotchi
Turkpimp
Bujiro
Cawin
aNiMeGoD2727
Faust
Fire Mage
dark_crystalis

They will also have 24 hours to send in their votes - if they don't send in their vote, then nothing happens, it's just a loss for the person that they may have voted for. Dp and Erave, bribe away!

Good luck you two!

*DarkPriest and Erave are shocked. It always seems like they’re up against each other all the time – but always in a deadlock.*

Erave: Yet AGAIN I am rivaled with Dp.

Community games, midis, Best Game Maker Award in that GW Contest...

Oh well =P.

Well all I have to say is... I'd be a good vote magnet, so bringing me back would only help your former allies.. or something..

MDN: I think that Cawin is going to be the deciding factor in this round, from what I know/figured both Erave and DP have got 2 votes on themselves so far to be brought back so Cawin is a tie breaker.

Since Safari who voted him out voted for DP (or he says he did) then that might decide this round, but then again Cawin might not consider that part in his decision.

*Some time had elapsed – and the jury, for the most part had voted.*

The Jury's Decision

Mateui: I will now reveal who the jury has decided to bring back into the game.

Humigotchi
I vote for DP! ("yay. I am teh JURY!!!!!!!")

Turkpimp
(DID NOT VOTE)

Bujiro
Erave ("Hiya, sorry it took me a while, I've been gone all day, I vote for Erave, I want him back in the game... he's my leader I guess! Besides how could I deny such a brilliant person a chance like this?")

Cawin
(DID NOT VOTE)

aNiMeGoD2727
(DID NOT VOTE)

Faust
DP ("for obvious reasons. One of us have to win. Also: I got NO fucking votes? You people SUCK!")

Fire Mage
Erave! ("You coulda guessed that... :P He was my biggest alliance partner along with another person(I'll not mention) and thus, I want him to be revived!”)

dark_crystalis
(DID NOT VOTE)

Mateui: Oh my.. DP = 2, Erave = 2. Another tie.. It seems that no matter what I try, there always seems to be a tie between Erave and DarkPriest. I told you that you would not like to find out what will happen now, but, it indeed has happened, and I only have one choice left.

I already let the members of the game vote, that didn't work. I let the jury vote, that didn't help either. And now, I'm afraid I'll have to let another group decide who will get back into the game - that's right, the GW Community.

I will post a Poll in the General Forum, and the community will vote for the person who they would like re-instated into the game. The poll will only be counting for the first hour of the topic.. Only 1 hour – after that, I will not count anymore votes. The person with the most votes there will be put back into the game.

I realize that this is going to be a popularity contest, but I'm afraid there's nothing else I can do to break the tie..

Good luck. (I'll start the poll in the General Forum at some random time today).

*Everyone is in shock. Another tie, and only the GW community will have to break it up.*

Un-Elimination Poll:

(The following was posted in the Polls Forum on the Gaming World Forums.)

Mateui: Making the Cut is a forum elimination type game, where the members playing PM me who they want to vote out that round. Each round, the person with the most votes is cut from the game, and the rounds continue.

Currently, the game is facing a tie. The thing is, the tie occurred, so I asked the people who were already eliminated to vote as well. Guess what: That also came up as a tie.

Due to the tie, I decided that I would let the GW Community decide which member will be let back into the game. Erave and DP both have already been eliminated, but one of them will be revived, and let back into the game. So, please vote for which one you believe deserves a second chance at the game - either Erave, or DP.

At the end of the poll, the person with the most votes will be re-instated into Making the Cut. The loser, well, they'll just end up being a loser for the second time in the game.

The poll will only be counted for the first 60 minutes... STARTING NOW!!!

(THE POLL ENDS AT ABOUT 8:30)

(The poll was very crazy – soo many different things occurred. Here are some posts, and commentary on what happened).

(NOTE: When saying something like 13-12, that is how many votes each person received. The number on the left represents DP’s votes, and the one on the right, Erave’s.)

MDN: Like I said before whoever is revived is probably gonna be voted out in the first normal round, since their probably gonna have a hard time keeping the people that voted to revive them together, after all there's so few people left and an alliance of 4 when 7 are left will crumble fast.

I think Erave just kept the lead for an entire minute, this should go in the record book.

Mateui: Ahh! 14-14! Tie again!!!

*A few minutes later*

Mateui:This is very close.. except it's 19-17 now.. I just hope that when the time is up, either DP or Erave have many more votes over one another, because it may end up that one of them wins by one vote when I end the poll... We'll see.

(EDIT: 19-19... A TIE! The horror!!)

*Another few minutes later*

Mateui: Ok.. the votes are coming in soo fast.. It's 22-20 now.. I think.

*A few minutes after that.*

Bart: I just tied up Erave/DP.. Oh and it seems someone just got Erave winning

ATARI: Just out of Curiosity Mateui, what would happen if it was a tie?

Mateui: If there is a tie, I would keep on refreshing my browser. The first person who would be up by one vote would then win.

*After some more time*

Mateui: Only 6 minutes left..
(23-24)

*2 Minutes later*

Mateui: 4 minutes left.. and it seems like the voting is slowing down... We'll see what happens..

(In a few minutes. I will call "STOP!". When this happens. I will refresh my browser for the last time, and those will be the official results.)

ATARI: Oooh, votes have gone up! 24, 25,

By the way, there has been over 1200 views on this topic.

Mateui: And 1 minute left...

*And finally, one minute later*

Mateui: STOP!!!! STOP!!!!

Bart: 27/27!

Fire Mage: THE END! OMFG!

WHO WON!!!?

EDIT: OMFG! I HAVE CURSED THE TOPIC TO A TIE! NOES! ;__;

Erave: NOOOOOO!!!!

ANOTHER TIE!?!?!

This has got to be the most tense thing ever.

*And so, I kept on refreshing, until one would emerge victorious*

Mateui: THE OFFICIAL RESULTS (After 1 Hour): 27 - 28

THAT MEANS THAT THE WINNER IS: Erave

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Thanks for voting everyone!

*Erave is very happy to have won.*

Erave: WHOO!!!

Thank you guys!

This has got to be the most intense thing ever! Dp, I love you too man, sorry it was so close...

/me hugs everyone

*But Bart has discovered something very important..*

Bart: WAIT !!

It seems I have captured some cheaters. Someone registered and simply voted for someone.

SLIPPERS 68.10.71.125 0 15-July 03 View Profile | Edit Member
APERSON 68.10.71.125 0 15-July 03 View Profile | Edit Member

Whoever you are, Good going.. Mat might have to do this again.

*The GW Members ask Bart who that person voted for.. He answers. This may effect the outcome*

Bart: Erave

Fire Mage: Oh god............................................
DOES THIS MEAN....... DP WINS!!!???

OMFG NO FAIR!!!

Erave: Alright I will say this. If you have to just disabandon this idea, and let DP win or no one. I'm fine with it.

This is just for fun right?

Bart: I think DP should win by default. No recount needed.

I voted for Erave myself though..but when someone cheats at a Casino, do they do a tie breaker? No, the cheater is sent to jail..In this case, I think DP should win.

Mateui: Oh my, cheating is present – I guess that this will have to give victory to DP.

Erave: And yet again, through a weird twist of fate, I am cut.

Man my luck sucks.

FIREMAGE JYNXED ME!!!

*And Bart went out to find out who cheated..*

Bart: It was not Erave/DP or any one really popular within this contest.

CHEATER FOUND: SALEOP

Thanks Blizz! (Saleop voted 2, or possibly 3 times)

Mateui: OK. So then, the newer official score, after removing the 2 tainted votes is:

27-26

*And that was that. DP was the winner, and he would be the one coming back into the game. Erave was disappointed, but by this time he had had enough bad experiences to face anything.*

CONFESSIONALS:

(This section will inform you about various things – things such as who voted for who (and for what reasons), who allied with who, the strategy that was used by some participants, and generally, what was happening in the heart of the game. The members speak out.)

MDN: I had actually thought some about voting to bring DarkPriest back into the game before I got to speak to Erave from how he had PMed everyone to vote for him. I had my own plans of using either Erave or DarkPriest as a wall for people to vote for to get rid of again instead of me in a future round. But then I spoke to Erave and we managed to get just 3 votes for him, if I remember right Koromai had voted before I had spoken to Erave and voted for DP, after that I started to not trust Koromai.

When it came to the tie breaker round I was IMing every online contact of mine to vote for Erave (and so was Erave) while DP was sleeping and we still lost. I knew we were probably doomed to lose at that point from how that DP was an admin and thus probably going to get more votes then Erave.

VOTES REVEALED:

(This section simply points out who everyone voted to bring back in this episode.)

Koromai777 -> DarkPriest
MasterDarkNinja -> Erave
Safari -> DarkPriest.
Gamewolf252 -> Erave
Geno_SMRPG -> Erave.
Deluge -> DarkPriest

NEXT TIME ON MTC:

- One member will quit for personal reasons, causing the round to finish in an instant.
- In Round #12, with only 6 players, some are forced to vote against past allies.

All this and more in a combined article - Episode 11/12! Tune in next time.
