Executed Players:
UPRC

Current Pot:

Voice Over: Ten unlikely strangers.. living in a secluded hotel. They will be participating in challenges to raise the game’s pot – Post points. The winner of the game will receive this amount, and it will be added to their GW account. They will also be awarded GW Supporter Status.

However, it’s not as simple as that. One of the ten is secretly a saboteur, a double agent, working with the Host to lower the pot by misleading others and sabotaging the challenges. They are the elusive Evil Puppet Master. (EPM for short).

At the end of each round, the players will take a quiz on the identity of the EPM. The player with the lowest score will be executed, being eliminated from the game. In the end, only 3 will remain, the Loser, the Winner, and of course, the Evil Puppet Master.

You as the reader can also play along, by trying to discern who may be sabotaging the challenges, and deceiving others. Perhaps you can figure out the true identity of the EPM before anyone else.

Let us begin..

Chikochamp:*sigh* Well, bye UPRC. Thanks for the free pass.

Well, wasn't that a fun way to end the Round? With everyone, myself included, exposed as lying bastards. I was sort of half excited about and half dreading the fact that everyone was about to think I was a liar, when the whole thing went out the window when Mateui revealed his first trick. Oh well, back to square one, I guess.

To make things worse, just as we thought we had the EPM sussed, we go and realise that Finality was quite likely one of the few people telling the damn truth!

Logan: I don't know if I mentioned this in my ROUND ONE report, but I've decided to give up lying, also. It causes nothing but trouble unless a huge amount of thought is put into a careful and scrutinizing web of lies - but I have other things to do, too. =P. So, I'm going to start telling only the truth (until at least nearing the end of the game, when I need to to win.)

The current suspicion of the EPM that I have is: Chikochamp. He said that he was in MTC2, but didn't get to play much, and also he is a newer member, making it that fewer people know much about him. That'll probably be my suspicion for a lot of the game, pending something come up that should change that.

So long for now.

*The players were still sleeping in their own rooms.. an eerie calm filled the hotel. A bell sounded, and the players woke up, being summoned to go downstairs into the Lounge. After some time, they arrived, and were standing in front of Mateui.*

Mateui: The challenge will begin soon, but before that, you will all need to vote on something.

*The players looked at each other.*

Mateui: Everyone, please nominate a player who you feel would be most helpful if they didn’t help at all. (You CAN nominate yourself.)

*The players voted, and it was quite unanimous.*

Mateui: OwlStorm, you have the majority of the votes.

TheCreeper: COUGHSHEDOESN'THELPANYHOWCOUGH

OwlStorm: Hey man that's not fair. I am here plenty- just not when you're on. Screw you.

I even logged on during class for this. SORRY I'M NOT IN YOUR TIMEZONE.

If Mateui tells us what time the challenge will start I will probably be there unless I am going to be asleep or on the train.

I was one of the most active members in MTC2, you know.

Obviously my vote is not going to count, so I will vote for you, TheCreeper!

TheCreeper: ...alright. I see how it is, Owl.

Mateui: The challenge will start later. For now, head back to your rooms and mingle.

*The players all headed back, contemplating of what may soon happen. Hours passed, and something was different. The players notice that OwlStorm was no longer among them.. she was missing. The players were summoned once again to the Lounge.*

Mateui: You may have noticed the OwlStorm is no longer here. In fact, she has been kidnapped by a Secret Agency, and taken to a secure compound. There, she is being held in one of three highly protected buildings, behind a wall activated by a password.

Thus, it is your job, as the eight remaining players, to venture inside the high surveillance compound, and to free OwlStorm. However, the compound is filled with snipers who will shoot at any detection of motion. Thus, you must go into the compound one by one, trying to go undetected by the snipers, while still getting inside each of the buildings.

Each building must be visited, since each of them contains a number which will unlock the chains of the hostage once they are found. In total, you will collect 2 numbers, but they must re-arranged in the correct order to unlock the hostage.

The person who unlocks the hostage will be awarded an exemption. However, OwlStorm, being held hostage, will choose 1 person who she will mark. If this person should free her, they will not get an exemption, but instead, OwlStorm will.

Here is a floor plan of how the compound looks like.

(The Grey X squares are only impassable blocks. The black blocks with the numbers 1-3 are the buildings, and the Green square is where you will be starting from).

One by one, each of you will start from the green square, and will move through the compound, visiting every building. But, be careful, for there are a certain number of snipers who will shoot you if you come into their sight range. (The sight of a sniper is exactly like a Rook in chess – only that they face one way.)

This is an example. The red square is the sniper, and since he is facing UP, the two squares in above him are his sight range. The reason why his sight range is only 2, is because there is a block on the third square. The snipers face either North, East, South, West, with their sight range unlimited in that way, until it hits an obstacle. If a player steps into one of these two squares, or onto a square where a sniper is standing, they will be shot.

You will move like so:

- Left
- Up
- Up
- Left
- Left
- Left to Compound 1 (Enters the Compound)
- Right from Compound 1 (Leaves the Compound)
- Down
- Down
- Down
- Down
- Down
- Down to Compound 3 (Enters the Compound)
- Up from Compound 3 (Leaves the Compound)
- Up
- Left
- Left
- Left
- Left into Compound 2 (Enters the Compound)

(If a player enters a compound from a certain square, when the leave the compound, they must return using that square.)

If a Player Moved like Above, this would be the result:

You have a decision to make as a group. For the cost of 20 Points, I will make an image of each player’s movement, and mark the square in which they were shot.

For instance, like so:

There are 8 of you who will be moving through the compound. Discuss strategies on who to handle this task, and decide the order with which you will go inside.

Please state as soon as possible if you wish to pay 20 points.

*The group huddled, and decided to spend the 20 points. They were going to need as much help as possible to win this challenge.*

*The group discussed order, and finally, Logan prompted to go first. He left the hotel, and went into the backyard were the compound was set up. He ventured on as the other 7 players waited.*

*A couple of minutes later, a message was heard*

Logan has been shot by a sniper.

*The players looked forward as a large screen descended, showing an outline of the compound outside.*

*WuJing then decided to enter.. and then a few minutes later, another map appeared.*

*Next, Illness Illusion ventured outside.. and, once again, another map appeared.*

*Frustrated by the team’s lack of success, Chikochamp left and entered the compound. Minutes later, another map appeared*

*Logan, WuJing, Illness Illusion, Chikochamp were now all gone. Only Moriason, Mr. Y, Finality, and TheCreeper were left.*

*Moriason decided to give it a try and he entered the compound. He weaved around the various walls, until.. another map appeared.*

*Now, with only 3 people left, they were unsure of who would go next.*

TheCreeper: I would go, but I fear Owl put my name on it.

*After some debating and arguing, TheCreeper agreed reluctantly to go, and so he left.*

*Moments later, a map appeared.*

*Only Finality and Mr. Y were left. After some discussion, Finality agreed to go, hoping that he would free OwlStorm, and get an exemption.*

*Mr. Y was now all alone in the hotel, looking at the screen.. waiting.. hoping that another map would come up.. Nothing.. Mr. Y sighed. Perhaps Finality reached the goal.. A flash, and then a map came on onto the screen.*

*Mr. Y looked at the screen, and tried to determine a safe way of passage. After staring at the map for what seemed an eternity, he left the hotel, and entered the compound.*

*After minutes.. a map appeared on the screen.. yet no one was left to see what it was.*

*At the compound, Mr. Y was standing in front of the last building. In front of him was a door locked by a 2-digit pass code.*

Mr. Y Excellent. I'm crossing my fingers for the next part..

*Mr. Y received 2 numbers.. 4, and 7. All he had to do now was to arrange them in the correct order to either unlock the door and win an exemption, or to fail miserably and not gain any points for the pot.*

Mr. Y My solution is the number 47.

*Mr. Y punched in the number.. and waited.*

Mr. Y Am I right?

*PING!*

*The door opened, and OwlStorm came out.*

*Mateui’s voice was heard over the intercom.*

Mateui: CONGRATULATIONS. 120 Points have been added to the pot, and Mr. Y receives an exemption.

Finality: BINGO. It was basically the solution I also had, just with the last two steps different.

We finally got through a challenge! :D

Chikochamp: Well, the Hostage Challenge turned out to be very interesting. I really wanted the exemption, but I came up with a new path, was the first to try it out, and, predictably, got shot. But the IRC discussion was more interesting. It got a little heated, and definitely switched my suspicions of the EPM around a little. Specifically, to Moriason. I dunno, something about him...he seemed a little too clueless in that challenge. But really, it was just interesting because it was the first time I really saw any of these people in the position of anything other than Mr. Nice Guy as they started yelling at each other.

Also, I think I may have accidentally raised people's suspicions that I'm the EPM. I sort of took control of the challenge towards the end, and, because I fucked it up, a few people may now believe that I was out to sabotage it on purpose. In the end, however, Mr. Y got it with what was an altered version of the route I took, so it might not have been very effective in making them believe I'm the EPM.

OwlStorm: I was "kidnapped".

I was hoping they had inadvertantly given me exemption. That would have been cool.
But yeah... the anger has worn off. I'm ok now.

As for the EPM. Of course I was thinking TC, but it could be Mr Y or Logan. Logan is being kinda nice to me which makes me a little suspicious. I'm sure nobody thinks the EPM is me! I'm too busy being in a different timezone.

On the other hand, I might be a good person to shift the blame off the EPM if ever we fail. In that respect, I must take note of those who blame me.
I know Moriason said last night that people were unhappy that they lost- as if to blame me. I pointed out that a lot of people lied about their letter so I kind of made no difference at all. He agreed. But I still need to remember he said that, for future reference.

At the moment I feel TC may be the EPM though...

TheCreeper: FUCK. I LOST.

Now, I'm going into the quiz tomorrow or the next day with zero confidence. I don't even have a solid grasp of who could possibly be the EPM. Shit.

*Prior to the challenge, WuJing was having an interesting conversation with a few other people..*

Heres my deal
...Meep?
I don’t actually want to lose 20 points. I say, let the lucky guy win
HOWEVER
I will vote in exchange for something
Oh, that?
Yeah, let's do it.
Someone has to send me a screenshot of their invite, showing me if they are EPM or NOT
Otherwise C3&4 will be impossible.
pm me
to tell me
.....
dont say out here
otherwise I'm going for no
WHA..
...WE DONT NEEED YOU >:
Alright
* Wolfie really wishes Chiko would just @#%#$ get on
I'm also not going to run the maze until the very last
He's like... idle, or something
WuJing, what the fuck?
Your suppose to help the team.
I'm fully willing
I just need something out of it, because I want to vote no... but the team wants to vote yes
What?
Vote no then.
Fuck you.
WuJing, you want everyone to take a screenshot of their letter from Mateui welcoming them into the game...? Or what? I'm confused.
no
just one person
if you're not EPM then you don’t really have much to lose
You're not getting my screenshot.
So, if someone else wants to volunteer.
Not me, it's stupid XD.
Then don’t. I'll just delay my vote and my course of action in the challenge. All I'm saying is clearing your name from EPM would let people trust you more.
Unless you didn't want me to say

WuJing: I have to realistically Point MRY as EPM. CONSIDERABLE proof against him now. My gambit to get a invite screeny worked. MrY sent me his.

Dated today, not 3 days ago when the game began.

He then told me AFTER I asked him about the date that he had deleted his and that Mateui had to resend him a new one. Not only that, earlier when I ran the gambit he had said this:

This seems pointless. What'd prevent the EPM from getting the same PM from Mateui? This method of testing makes no sense to me, unless I misunderstand you.

If you told me you were the EPM now, I would keep it to myself and tell no one. The fact is, until I have some concrete proof either way, I'm going to have to go on the assumption that you are the EPM and you made a mistake
You still there?
Hey!
Come on, answer me.
hi
Urm, can you wait a couple minutes for me? I need to talk to you.
Oh, and!
Don't tell anyone that I need to talk to you :P.
ok
fine
Okay...
ok
I just spoke with Mateui, and he okayed it, so... yeah, I am the EPM. And you promised you wouldn't tell anybody!
Alright. Now I'm not going to 100% believe it... consider it 90%.
Oh, I'll make you believe 100%.
?
Thats kinda scary
You had better believe my story.
Well, you could still be lying. I THINK you are the EPM. I believe you are... but there is still that chance you are lying. So I'm saying 90% - I believe you are, but there’s still a chance
Just listen to what I'm saying, okay? I'll explain everything.
Ok
I've been the EPM since the start! I skipped Challenge 1 and lied about work. I was at home playing Red Dead Revolver, heegle. Challenge 2, I gave the real letter so I could try to blend in and gain some trust. And now in Challenge 3, I'm trying to coordinate it so I can go sometime in the late middle, so I can advance everyone a bit and maybe misdirect them. Like, maybe I'll make some bogus shooter positions or something.
I see
well, I guess that makes sense
Mateui didn't pick me because I'm too nice. That'd be too obvious. He picked me because so little is known about me already. I'm a real enigma at GW anyways, no matter how much I talk. Off course, I eased things a bit, giving my Yolindo name and all.
well, I need to shower in a few minutes
I won’t tell anyone
I'm going to leave you some messages here, will you read them when you get back?
It's important you know this stuff!
yeah

But heres the catch:

Mateui, did you OK MrY?
...?
He asked you a question - did you say ok?
(I have no idea what you are talking about.. I'm kind of confused..)
Dont worry, you just answered my question without even knowing it
Ok..
Dang, I guess I can't be secretive. Read my journal in a few minutes and it makes sense
Alright

*Later..*

Here's the deal. Mateui doesn't want you spilling the beans to anyone, and therefore he asked me to tell you to keep this secret! So the very first rule is that you can't tell anyone.
Mateui wants to treat you like a miniature-EPM. Kinda like my partner or sidekick. He thinks it will be an interesting game twist.
Therefore, you need to know a lot about me in order to pass the quizzes. Mateui does not want you in the end game, however; in the last round it'll be me and two other players. Having you there would shorten or ruin the game.
I'll give you half the info about me. I don't know whether Mateui makes his quizzes from all the questions or only some of them, but this'll help you out a lot.
I gotta tell you something else beforehand though.
The truth is that Mateui is more like my boss, and less my partner. I come to him if I need anything, but he won't help me or you out with information like what people write in their Journals, or what Challenges will be coming up. This is because he wants my role to be more of the quiz material, and less of the sabotageur (sp?).
I came to him just awhile ago to ask him about you, and he said to tell you everything and involve you in my side of the game. That means you now have special privileges and responsibilities.
Mateui wants us to prevent as many points as possible for the Pot. Also, if there's any opportunity for us to take or gain an exemption, we should do it.
Also, sometimes Mateui may PM me with special information and ask me to write a nasty post with the EPM account.
But that's it. Really, I don't interact with him that much unless my secret identity is in danger.
I've told you everything to know. So, follow his instructions and my example, okay? And the game'll be ours.
Also...
I will ask Mateui about the possibility of splitting the Pot between you and another player.
Wait, this means you'd want to work FOR the Pot...
Ah well, go for it I guess. The important thing is that you take exemptions.
But anyways, I'll get Mateui to split the Pot between you and the "winner", because you succeeded in discovering the EMP.
Just do what I told you from now on, okay? And I'm sorry if you aren't happy with your new job, but please just do it for Mateui's sake. The game would be ruined otherwise.
Now, I'
I will give you half of my info, so you'll make it farther into the game.
Age: 16
Sex: M
Er. I'm going to grab a different portion to give you.

*HOWEVER:*

Mateui
MrY
has told me more
Oh yes..?
And I accept the position... if its real. If, again, you have no idea what I'm talking about... just say so
I don't know what Mr. Y is doing.. or what position you are talking about.
Ok, thanks

Mr. Y: Lots of great stuff happened today!

First, I really tricked up WuJing. It began with me and some guys, including WuJing, talking in #MTC. We all wanted to spend these 20 Pot points to ease up our 3/4 Challenge, and we needed WJ to vote Yes. But he wouldn't do it without a screenshot of one player's MTC3 invitation PM from Mateui. I told him the whole idea was silly because the EMP could just as well have the PM, and he told me to prove I had mine.

The truth is that I didn't have the PM WuJing wanted. This is because I was a late addition to the game, a replacement for some other player. Mateui messaged me on MSN and asked me, and I agreed to do it. He told me everything in the PM, but he didn't send it to me. So, in order to earn WJ's trust, I had to get the PM and get a screenshot. I messaged Mateui when he got online and asked for the PM, and he sent it to me. You can see the screenshot by clicking here.

After seeing it, WuJing pointed out the time of the message. Not only that... WuJing became convinced that I was the Evil Puppet Master!

I decided to take advantage of this grand opportunity. I made some terrible attempts at denial, which only seemed to encourage WuJing. Eventually he gave me the option of just admitting the "truth" to him- he wouldn't tell a soul! I left and came back sometime later, maybe fifteen or twenty minutes or something, and messaged him to get his attention. Then I grabbed something to eat, and returned.

I gave WuJing a lengthy explanation, telling him a bunch of great stuff. I was the Evil Puppet Master all along! And now that he knew, he'd be my accomplice- Mateui said so! But WuJing shouldn't bother Mateui with any questions, because in reality I was working for Mateui, not with him, and I only contacted him when my secret identity was in jeopardy.

The best part is, WuJing apparently bought the whole package for a time. He pasted a lengthy conversation he had with Mateui, in which he asked Mateui about what I said, and Mateui didn't even have a clue. I love this! This is such a mean, fun game. I just hope WuJing forgives me later for all these nasty tricks I've pulled. Right now I think WuJing doesn't know what to think- maybe I'm the EPM, or maybe I'm not?! Either way, I hope he's so baffled that he'll screw up the quiz this round or the next, and get out of the game. I believe that being labled the EPM will really hamper my ability to succeed at challenges, win exemptions, and get the information I need from people to succeed at the quizzes.

Now, for the other good news. I was the hero of Challenge 3/4! I managed to snake my way through the snipers, reach all three buildings, and succeed with a 50/50 chance of freeing OwlStorm. It feels good, I want to do it again. Even better, I won an exemption for this round- something I really needed! I'm concerned about the quizzes, I haven't learned much at all about anyone.

I feel sorry for poor OwlStorm. Everyone else, including Mateui, is in a different time zone than her. She gets a ton of blame, and many people want her out because it's really inconvenient. I don't think that her lack of presence will be a real issue at this point, however. The first quiz everyone takes will probably be luck. Matter of fact, I bet that most all of the quizzes we take will just be luck.

Anyways. I get to take a day off tomorrow, the day of the quiz. Pretty nice

Finality: Third challenge today. It was a really hard one too. Logan, Illusion, and myself were in #MTC trying to make sense of the challenge and decide if we wanted to sacrifice the 20 points to get the maps. We couldn't make that decision without a majority count, so Logan created a poll and I had to leave shortly afterwards. I came back to see that 5 (I already knew Logan went) other members went ahead. As I went back into #MTC, TheCreeper told me the solution before I could even begin reviewing the other maps. I'll post back to see if what Creeper said was right.

I lost. CHIKOCHAMP IS THE MOLE. HOW OBVIOUS CAN IT BE.

The Execution - Round 2

*All the remaining players gathered in the “Execution Chamber” of the Hotel. This is the room in which one player would be executed each round. They all sat down in their seats – a large computer screen located in front of them.*

Mateui: Welcome to the second execution, which is our first real execution. (You are probably noticing that there is music playing in the background - its here to set the mood.)

Alright. I'll explain the procedure. One by one, I will type your name into my computer, and shortly thereafter, an image will appear. If it is a GREEN thumbprint, this means that you have survived onto the next round. If it is a RED thumbprint, this means that you have been executed by the Evil Puppet Master, since you scored lowest on your quiz.

Before we get to the actual execution, I would like to make a note. When and if you are executed do NOT discuss what you wrote on your quiz to the remaining players, or who you thought the EPM was. This just gives someone else a better advantage, and is not fair to everyone else. So please, remain quiet after you have been executed. (You're supposed to be dead anyway.)

Now that that is out of the way, we can begin.

I would like to make an announcement. We have a tie tonight for the lowest quiz. (Also, the names in this execution do not appear in order of how well you did - they are random, except, of course, the last name.)

*Mateui begins to type a name.*

I am sorry Finality, but you have been executed by the Evil Puppet Master. Please state any parting words, and write down anything you want as a closing to your Journal.

(Remember, please don't give any information to the other players to help them or hinder them. Let them figure out things on their own.)

Thanks for playing. (You can still hang around #MTC if you want, as a ghost, watching the other players..)

May you rest in peace...

Finality: I'm still saying Chikochamp is the EPM, but I didn't know anything about him. Or did I bother to gather any info from anyone, I was thinking the quizzes would be based on details of the challenge and minor details of unexpected items (like they did on the Mole).

I would have won the exemption yesterday if I didn't go immediately with what Creeper told me. But he seemed so sure, that I thought he was right.

But, that's the way things go. I went pretty far in MTCII, and just yesterday I was wondering how far along I would go before the unavoidable chance of elimination... AND THAT WAS TODAY. :)

Parting Words:

"Eh, that sucks. I thought I knew who the EPM was from the beginning, but I guess I was wrong... or I just didn't know anything about them. Everything on the quiz was guessed, so I'm not really surprised I lost. Anyways, good luck to the remaining players. And seeing as though not much happened, that's all I have to say. :D

Good luck again, everyone."

*Finality picked up his bags, and left the hotel..*
