How to make your very own blackjack in RM2K! Simple step-by-step method. 10 easy steps!

Body

-How to make your very own blackjack game in RM2K-
Blackjack is a simple card game that ranges from 2 to 4 players.
For simplicity purposes, I will teach you how to make a two player game, but by the end of this tutorial, you'll most likely know how to make a 4 player one and maybe even more players.
A basic knowledge of how forks work is needed.

-The rules for blackjack are simple-
Each person begins by drawing 2 cards
Each turn, the person may decide if they want to draw an additional card
The game is over when both players stop drawing
2 through 9 is their respective value
10, jack, queen, king is all worth 10 points
Ace can be worth 1 or 11 points
A player with over 21 points loses
The player with the high point but lower than 21 wins
Usually 21 give a person a win

-How to program-
-I'll make this simple and step-by-step so that you can follow along-
-If something is in brackets like [Test], that means it's for experienced programmers,
and is not required for just a regular version-
-Just follow the steps accordingly-
-And something very important: organize your blackjack game with labels, for example, if you see step one, put "label 1" above it. If you see something like "go to step 3", then you would program "go to label 3" in RM2K. The labels act as a teleport for command lines. Simple?-

-Step 1-
Make an event that is "auto started"
Make a variable called "Own points", set to 0
Make a variable called "AI points", set to 0
Make a variable called "Rnd points", set to 0
(the names are just for my memory, you can call them something else if you like)

-Step 2-
Set "Rnd points" randomly from 2 to 13
Set a fork, IF "Rnd points" > 9. THEN "Rnd points" = 10
Add "Rnd points" to "Own points"
Repeat Step 2 once more

-Step 3-
Bring up a text box with a choice of drawing another card "Draw/Stay"
Show the number of points with \V[Variable #]
[You may use the password command instead of a choice text box]
IF yes, then go to the Step 4
IF no, then the game ends, and go to the Step 7

-Step 4-
Set "Rnd points" randomly from 1 to 13
[You many show the card using the "show pic" command]
[E-mail at legacy001usa@netscape.net for a copy of the picture cards]
Set a fork, IF "Rnd points" > 9. THEN "Rnd points" = 10. Go to Step 6
Set a fork, IF "Rnd points" = 1. THEN Go to Step 5

-Step 5-
Bring up a new text box with a choice of placing the "1" as 1 or 11 points
Set a fork, if "1" choice, Set "Rnd points" as 1
Set a fork, if "11" choice, Set "Rnd points" as 11

-Step 6-
[Be sure to clear all pics at this point if you used any]
Add "Rnd points" to "Own points"
Set a fork, IF "Own points" >21. THEN the game ends. Go to Step 7.
Set a fork, IF "Own points" <22 THEN loop back to Step 3

-Step 7-
Set a fork, IF "Own points" >21. THEN the game is over. END
[You may use a pic to show game over]
Set a fork, IF "Own points" <22. THEN compare scores. Go to Step 8

-Step 8-
Set "AI points" randomly from 16 to 22
Set a fork, IF "AI points" = 22. THEN the player wins. END
Set a fork, IF "AI points" < 22. THEN go to Step 9.

-Step 9-
Set a fork, IF "Your points" > "AI points". THEN the player wins. END
Set a fork, IF "Your points" < "AI points". THEN the players loses. END
Set a fork, IF "Your points" = "Ai points". THEN the player loses. END

-END-
[Be sure to clear all previous pics if you used any]
[You may use picture to show a win or lose]
If the player won at this point. Add gold, gil, money or whatever.
If however, the player lost, subtract gold and make fun of the incompetence of the player.
