Okay, this is a tutorial on making your hero swim and climb with style!

All you need is iDraw and RPG maker (duh)

First, we will be making the graphics of your swimmer. Open your hero graphics in iDraw. Use the transparent color to make your hero with his body cut off (to make your hero look like it would be swimming) on all four directions. Save the file as SwimHero (or somethin' similar).

Now, we will make your hero climbing a ladder graphic. If iDraw is still open, open the normal walk graphics of your character. Edit the hero face up (three graphics on the top row) so he appears to be climbing. You can do this easily by making your heroes arms up in the air instead of by the heroes sides. Copy and paste this row over the other rows where the hero is facing the other three directions, and thats it for the graphics, save that picture as HeroClimb.

Making the hero swim!
Go to the database and make it so you can pass through the water. Just to test, I recommend you make a square pool or body of water so you can use my fabulous examples . You need to make an event on the left side of the pool on the closest chip without going in the water like so:

This event start conditions should be “at hero touch”, and the coding should be:
<>set chara movement : hero; start jump, right, right, end jump, play SE water1, change hero GFX to HeroSwim, move speed down.
Copy and Paste:

Now, we need to make an event to get out of the water. That event goes here:

This event start conditions should be “at hero touch”, and the coding should be:
<>set chara movement : hero; start jump, left, left, end jump, change hero GFX to (regular graphics), move speed up.

Copy and Paste:

Now, you can figure out the rest for the other three sides right?

This is a bit easier than swimming, and you only need four events per ladder

Creating Event <1>

Note that event <1> isn’t on the ladder. I’ll just give you the coding here too:
This event start conditions should be “at hero touch”, and the coding should be:
<>set chara movement : hero; move speed down, step up, change graphics to (Hero Climb), step up

Creating Event <2>

This event is the first event on the bottom of the ladder. Coding (at hero touch):
<>set chara movement : hero; step down, change hero graphics(regular), speed up, step down

Creating event<3>

This one’s on the ladder, too. Here’s the coding (if you haven’t gotten the drift) at hero touch:
<>set chara movement : hero; step up, change hero graphics(regular), speed up, step up

Creating Event<4>

event <1> isn’t on the ladder. This event start conditions should be “at hero touch”, and the coding should be:
<>set chara movement : hero; move speed down, step down, change graphics to (Hero Climb), step down
