Tutorial - 'Golden Sun style Spells' by hotcoffee

How to create a system wherein items equipped equate to new spells, aka the "Golden Sun" system!

Okay, everybody- this is the first of my tutorials:

"Golden Sun- style spells"
As some of you may know, in the RPG series, "Golden Sun", You can
equip various items in order to learn spells that you can use
outside of battle. (A bit like the HM attacks of Poke'Mon)

For this tut i'm gonna give you two examples. The first will be
to make you invisible, and the second will be to light up pitch
black caves.

First of all: Create a spell (Found in the database) which
i'll call "Cloak". Make it a Switch classification and available
at the field. (If you want, make it cost MP)

Make it on switch "Cloak".

Now, how are you going to learn this spell?
Go to the Items tab and make an item, which i'll call
"Invisibilty Pendant" Make it an Other Classification and make it
that only your main hero can equip it (It'll make things a little
easier.) Price it at zero, that way it can't be sold- It might
be too important to sell! ^_^

That's it for the item- now on to the common events tab!
This'll need 2 common events-there may be an easier way
but this will do.

The first common event will be called "Equipped Items", and the
other, "HM spells".

Go to "Equipped Items" and Put in a fork condition,
Where the hero has the "Invisibility Pendant" equipped.
Inside that Fork condition, make the hero learn "Cloak".
In the excepting case, make the hero forget "Cloak" and Set
the hero's walk GFX to normal. (You'll see why soon)
Then change the switch"Cloak" Off.

Onto the second Common event!

Go to "HM Spells" and add a note:"Invisibility"-this will make it
easier to distinguish between the spells you put in here (You could
do this at the top of the other one, too if you want)

Put in a fork condition, switch "Cloak" On.
If you want, add in a battle animation of the hero casting the spell,
Maybe of a Pentagram appearing. (But this is not necessary.)
Now, Set the hero's walk GFX to normal, but tick the "Transp" Box.

And that's it for the Spell, "Cloak"!
(I have tested this and it works flawlessly for me. If It doesnt
work, just PM me and i'll try to help you through it. ^_^)

Now, for the next one, "Torch", its very similar.
For the spell, do it the same as before, except with a new name and
switch.
Same goes for the item, (I've called it "Ring of Light")

Okay, now go back to the common event, "Equipped items".
Underneath the end case, add the following:
Add a fork option for the hero having the ring of light equipped.
then make that he/she learns "Torch". If it's unequipped,
He/She should forget "Torch".

Now, onto "HM Spells". Add a note, saying "torch", or something similar.
Show the pentagram animation if you want, the flash the screen white, for 1 sec.
Set the screen tone to normal,
the turn off the switch, "Torch".
