A tutorial about making a smithy in your rpg. Very useful for learning about Fork Conditions!

Body

How to make an easy smithy, for noobs.
This is my first tutorial and I expect criticism from people. It may look long but it is easy.

NOTE: This tutorial is mainly for you noobs out there who would like a simple smithy. This tutorial requires:

Knowledge of Fork Conditions (of conditional branch if you have RM 2k3)

Common Goods/Items:
Metal Shard
Beast Claw

Weapons:
Beast Sword

(Note: You may make your own, these are only an example.)

First of all you must create a smith event that looks like a smith.
Choose whatever picture you want. Then Have him say something like:
“What can I make for You?” of “Good day, I am the smith here, I will make you weapons for a little cash and some items” After that show a choice like this one: Beast Sword. You can add more but I’ll get into that later.
Okay, here is where it gets a little long, but it’s still easy. Add a fork condition (or conditional branch if you have RM 2k3) go to second age on fork conditions and check item, then party possesses Beast Claw and before pressing OK, check the add else case,(or execute custom handler if you have Rm 2k3) .After the else case, write the message “you don’t have the required substances.”
After that do the same thing but this time make it so that they must be holding the metal shard, before you press ok. Add else case (or execute custom handler if you have Rm 2k3) then press okay. After else case put you don’t have the required substances in a message box.
After the fork conditions(or conditional branch) for the metal shard put the message: “\$ You have all the required materials. Make Beast Sword? It only requires 10gp”(Note, again, you may choose your own cost later. This symbol: \$ when used, show how much money you have.) Then add a choice that says “Yes” then another that says “no”. You will put nothing under the no.
Under yes put the following: Enter the fork conditions (or conditional branch) and on the first page, select money, then at least, 10gp, and add an else case (or execute custom handler) Under the else put the message. “You don’t have enough.” Then under the fork condition (conditional branch) you just placed. Put a message like “Ok” or “Right away my good sir!” Then Fade out the screen (You may find this option on the second page of the event commands).
After doing so, Wait .5seconds, then add a Sound Effect that sounds like an anvil hitting a hammer, Wait another .5 seconds and make the same sound. (Note: You may make this sound as many times as you like but not over 5.) Then show the screen by fading in.
Have the smith the say “Okay here is your beast sword.” Then play a Sound Effect or whatever you do when you get an item. Then Message: “You got Beast Sword!” After that Remove the Metal Shard, beast claw and 10gp(or whatever you use for currency) and then add the beast sword. Finally you can make the smithy say: “Have a nice day” or some other form of good-bye. If you did everything right, it should look like this:

<>Message: What can I make for you?
<>Show Choices: Beast Sword
: [Beast Sword] Handler
<>Branch if beast claw possessed
<>Branch if metal shard possessed
<>Message: You have the Required Resources
<>Message: Would you like me to make the Beast Sword? It’s only 10 gp…
<>Show Choices: Yes/No
: [Yes] handler
<>Branch if money is 10 or more
<>Message: Ok
<>Hide Screen: Fade out
<>Wait 0.5 Seconds
<>Play SE:(Sound)
<>Wait 0.5 Seconds
<>Play SE:(Sound)
<>Show Screen: Fade in
<>Message: Okay, here is your beast sword!
<>Play SE:(Sound)
<>Message: You got Beast Sword!
<>Change Items: Beast Claw 1 Remove
<>Change Items: Metal Shard 1 Remove
<>Change Items: Beast Sword 1 Add
<>Change Money: 10 Remove
<>
: Else Handler
<>Message: You don’t have enough money!
<>
: End
<>
: [No] Handler
<>
: End
<>
: Else Handler
<>Message: You don’t have all the components!
<>
: End
<>
: Else Handler
<>Message: You don’t have all the components!
<>
: End
<>
: End
<>
Again, if you want to make more than one weapon, then just add more choices at the beginning choices. Then copy this entire thing, put it under all the choices, and then edit it to fit with the choices. This was only an example, I’m sure some of the better programmers out there can make this shorter and better-made, but this is how I did it. I made it at 5 o’clock in the morning and if I had more time I would have made it shorter and simpler.
